WHY WRANGLES MUST END IN MAASAI MARA UNIVERSITY

WHY WRANGLES MUST END IN MAASAI MARA UNIVERSITY
The wrangles happening in Maasai Mara University is nothing other than corruption and tribalism fighting back if anything to go by.
It’s important to remember that the Vice-Chancellor of this University Prof. Mary Walingo had experienced very high resistance from the Maasai community in 2014, 2015 and better part of 2016 simply she is a lukhya working in the Maasai Land. This led to NCIC summoning one of the senior officers of the University Prof. Simon Kasaine Ole Seno for ganging up with his Son Mr. Kennedy Ole Saitoti  and mobilizing the Maasai Community and calling for the removal of all the staff members who were not from the maasai community. NCIC chairman Mr. Francis Ole Kaparo downplayed this issues and asked the media to talk to the secretariat. This clearly showed how tribal Kaparo was and how he was protecting their own clans men who had gone against the law. One year down the line no action has been taken. On continuation the other deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mary Misia Kadenyi was also doing her fight and corrupt deals. The DVC was captured in a video in her house planning a demonstration with students to destabilize the leadership of Prof. Walingo.  Prof. Kadenyi was using very vocal students who had been suspended like Robert Onchieku Ouko  to fuel violence in the University. These Videos were recorded on 1st May 2015 and this reported to the University council by the Government security agencies. The CID, NPS, APS and the NIS had all the information and had various meeting s with the University council unfortunately it’s not known what and how did the case die at long last. Now recently they raised the question of Prof. Mary Kadenyi sneaking in some names of students from her community to a graduation list in 2014 even after knowing they had not attended any university classes. The officer was at long last suspended by the University council.
The fact of the matter is all that is appearing in social media  is a fight staged by the deputy Vice-Chancellors, Prof. Simon Seno on tribal grounds and Prof. Mary Kadenyi on Unprofessional grounds to make the Nation imagine that they are clean and that the Vice Chancellor of the University is the person to blame in the mess.
Its high time Dr. Matiangi moves with speed to tame these Deputy Vice-Chancellors in Public universities who are Hungry for power and who  were appointed to a peace their communities so that they stop interrupting the normal running of the institutions.
We have seen this happening in other universities and in many cases its has been that there is one person in the senior administrative officers involved in the slashing the feet of the sitting Vice-Chancellor. In the case of Maasai Mar University, There are two things involved, Tribalism and corruption. The strong stand of Prof. Mary Walingo to ensure cohesion and stand against corruption and dubious deals in academia is what is coursing her troubles in Narok. It’s sickening when I see small boys carrying weapons on the road and calling names of very senior government officials simply because one of their own has been legally suspended of interrogated by other agencies.
The Government Must now takes action and prosecutes these tribal cocoons in Universities and ensures we have quality and Justice to all Kenyans.
If at the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mary Misia Kadenyi was truly suspended and she called students from her community and gave them her suspended letter and ordered for then to fight for then its very unfortunate and really something that the council of this university must ensure that Prof. Kadenyi Must be punished.
If it’s true that Prof. Simon Seno financed his Maasai Clans men from Suswa to travel in Masses to Narok to go and gang together and cause chaos then this is more than treason. This is an act that cannot be accepted in today’s generation.

The wrangles seen in Maasai Mara University is simply corrupt and tribal officers fighting back

Maasai Gilisho is a true Kenyan.
