VARSITY DON ASKS FOR LEAVE TO FLY ABROAD TO EVADE ARREST

VARSITY DON ASKS FOR LEAVE TO FLY ABROAD TO EVADE ARREST.

Maasai Mara University Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration Finance and Planning Prof. Simon Ole Seno has requested the University council to approve a three month leave for himself. Prof.Seno who was recently summoned by NCIC over his call for the removal of the current Vice-Chancellor Prof.Mary Walingo and all the non Maasai employees in the university is said to be trailed by the police over the recent violence that rocked the University after the Maasai Students together with the part-time lecturers stormed the vice-chancellor’s office and resulted to the closure of the university. A student from the maa community who declined     to disclose his identity said that Prof. Seno was being used by the suspended DVC (ARSA) Prof. Misia Anne Kadenyi to settle scores with Walingo. “We have warned Seno so many times to stop following Kadenyi all the time and he doesn’t listen to us. If he is arrested let him carry his own cross. He will not use us like tissue paper—let him look for his son Ken Saitoti who pours money to us to fight for him said the student. Information got into Prof. Seno’s ears that the NCIC had authorized CID officers from Nairobi to arrest him anytime incase violence erupt in the university. There is also a big worry that Prof. Seno could be running away from the EACC officials after a university bus that was involved in a road accident disappeared mysteriously in the hands of  Prof. Simon Seno, the University Registrar Mr. Samson Kisisrkoi, The transport Manager Mr. Joseph Sasai and the acting Finance Officer Mr. Spencer OlolChike. One more big worry is a response from the government agencies in an article we published a few weeks ago over the staff of the same University who stole cheques and were covered up by the University Management.

Maasai Leaders recently converged in Narok town and called for peace in the region calling the continuous violence in the university as un-called for. The area MPs and other leaders condemned some politicians who were using ignorant old men and innocent students to incite and cause chaos in the university and called upon the university council and administration to take stern action against anybody inciting students. “It was an opportunity for us to get a university in South Rift and now we have other people with their interests wanting to spoil the whole thing” said the area MP. The leaders pointed out the efforts made by the university to bring the university to international standards and requested the community to respect all Kenyans who have a right to work anywhere in the country. The leaders also asked the locals to embraces unity and stop behaving in a manner that portrays Maasais as Violent people.

We managed to obtain critical documents that show very high level communication between the university officers and the officers from the ministry of transport that clearly show “the game was at top Level”. Our efforts to contact the University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mary Walingo and Prof. Seno went futile.. All did not answer our phone calls. After sending a number of text messages requesting for clarification about the documents in our possession we managed to receive a text from a strange number asking us not to publish any document that we have and that someone will get back to us. We will be publishing a total of 38 documents from our investigative reporter who managed to obtain these documents from reliable sources in our next article. Stay tuned.
